End Of Year

End Of Year
This year has had a great impact on my work, the scope and diverse projects and my own research has enabled me to develop my work to a deeper scale. Two very contrasting projects a small scale development for a community centre and a much larger canal system. Also engaging at a much deeper level in theoretical studies, which details the processes and materials needed for many of our contemporary landscape projects.
The various software applications have also developed my own techniques, and allowed me to communicate my work more effectively.
Next year I look forward to expanding my range of graphic capabilities, moving on to 3ds max and rhino which will enhance my 3d capabilities. I have knowledge of Google sketch up, but there are limitations in refining the final outputs.
I will also take a bigger step in contextual studies, I would like to experience more parks and open spaces in different continents, to develop my understanding of different landscapes.
Magazines and journals have also broadened my view to the scope and diversity of work Landscape Architects undertake, something which before, was more restricted.
Books that have influenced me are:
Landscape graphics - Grant W. Reid

Detail in contemporary landscape Architecture Viginia Mcleod

These books have led me to understand the necessary details and sections and general understanding of symbols, which are necessary to development in proposals.
